Out There was founded in 2006 by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, as a small charity serving people in the Greater Manchester area. We help prisoners’ families maintain contact with their imprisoned family member and in practical ways ameliorate some of the harmful effects caused by the experience of imprisonment on innocent family members.
The support each family needs varies. Out There can offer:
- Information and Advice.
- Face-to-face and/or telephone support.
- Direct work with children who have been affected by the imprisonment of a family member.
- Referral and support to access other organisations.
- Opportunities to meet other families going through a similar experience.
