In a joint letter, Bishop Terence Drainey, Chair of CSAN, the Bishop of Durham and other church leaders in the North-East have asked the Chancellor not to cut Universal Credit by £20 a week from the Autumn of 2021. They highlight the combined impact of the proposed cut together with the ending of the furlough scheme, and rising costs of living – particularly fuel costs.
